Ramsey's personal mission is to be the type of nurse he would want taking care of himself. A nurse whose care is driven by evidence-based practice and who cares about the whole patient not just the task at hand.


He aspires to follow wherever this career and further education leads him, and to make every place along the way a better place to work and a better place to be a patient.


Urgent Care Nurse - October 2017 to Current

  • Triage Nurse - Meets walk-in patients after they have checked in to find their stated reason for presenting, Assessing patient for abnormal findings in addition to stated. Assigning a severity index score to determine when and who patient needs to see and ordering diagnostics prior to patient seeing a provider. 

  • Primary Nurse – Accepts responsibility for a patient load after triage nurse has seen them, following up with diagnostic results, carrying out treatment as ordered by provider. 

  • Charge Nurse – Maintains even workload among primary nurses, facilitates efficiency and safety of patient traffic through the department.

  • Serves as Employee Health when there is no provider in that department.


RN 82-1 (inpatient medical) - Dec 2011 to Oct 2017)
We rotate between: 

  • Telemetry Cardiac Monitor Nurse - Responsible for monitoring heart rhythms for abnormality and/or changes of all patients being monitored in both 82-1 and Urgent Care. 

  • Floor Nurse - Responsible for all care of medical surgery and detox patients to whom I am assigned for that day; administering or delegating medications and treatments, advocating for patients and providing patient education. 

  • Charge Nurse - Delegation of assignments, daily unit management, staff and patient education as needed. 

  • Special Observations Nurse - Multitasking care for up to 3 critically ill patients, walk in infusions or phlebotomies, and responder for medical emergencies and rapid responses for entire VA campus.


  • ADN from Kellogg Community College 2011

  • BLS certified. Expires June 2024

  • ACLS certified. Expires June 2024

  • ACLS Instructor certified 2014 – License is current
